The award winning Lil’ Wranglers® and Elite Wranglers ® continue to entertain audiences all over the State of Texas and beyond, just as they have for the past 16 years! They are under the direction of their founder, Sharon Toups, former Aggie Wrangler, class of '89. Whoop!
This incredible group of dancers was formed in 1999 when Sharon saw the potential for a youth country & western dance partnership between her two young children, Seth (7) and Sarah (4). She then brought them to a formal Aggie Wrangler meeting to discuss the idea with the team at that time. She would teach country & western dance lessons to the youth of the Brazos Valley, which no one had ever done before while the Aggie Wranglers continued their lessons in teaching college students and adults. The Aggie Wranglers embraced and supported the idea, and the Lil’ Wranglers® team began. She recruited six other children and began classes. Shortly thereafter, they started entertaining in the Brazos Valley as a community service group. To date, they have performed at well over 600 performances and events.
The Lil’ Wranglers® and Elite Wranglers ® are patterned after the internationally famous Aggie Wranglers from Texas A&M University. Whoop! They range in age from 5-18 years old, and perform signature stylized country & western jitterbug and swing dance moves that entertain and deliver big Texas smiles to the faces of audiences everywhere.
