Melissa Drummond

Melissa has been with Expressions Dance & Music since 2009.  She started as a Dance Instructor and now resides as the Artistic Director of the competive dance team, Expressions Dance Company.  Melissa graduated from Texas A&M in December of 2011 and received a degree in Communication with a double minor.  Her first minor was a dance minor based in ballet and modern dance and the second a business administration minor.  Melissa was member of Dance Arts Society, a student run organization at Texas A&M where she performed and choreographed for the organization for many years.

Melissa started dancing at the age of 11 at Alisa’s Dance Academy in Austin, Texas.  She trained with Alisa’s for nine years and also auditioned for the competition team, Austin’s Dance Elite (ADE).  She danced with the company for seven years and had the opportunity to perform at local events in the Austin area.  Melissa also traveled to cities such as New York, Los Angles, and Las Vegas to further her dance education.  At the age of 15, Melissa began teaching at Alisa’s Dance Academy, and taught for three years before heading off to college at Texas A&M!

Melissa's greatest passion is sharing her love of dance with kids of all ages! She has taught everything from ballet & tap for our preschool and Kinder students all the way up to our most advanced competition students.  Competition dance is her favorite style of training and she loves to instill a sense of discipline but more importantly a true love for dance.  She loves seeing her students perform and really bring life to the stage!
